Job summary

Cleveland Clinic on the Main Campus offers roles in Medical Technologist, Med Lab Technician, and Lab Technician positions. The caregiver works night shifts, Mon-Fri 11:00pm-7:30am with every 3rd weekend and rotating holidays.

This role involves performing and interpreting tests across complexity levels, adhering to CLIA regulations, and maintaining quality control and documentation while supporting ongoing education and professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a science-related field or meets CLIA high-complexity testing grandfathering clauses.
• One or more licenses in Microbiology, Immunohematology, or related areas.

Responsibilities

• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results.
• Maintain regulatory knowledge as it pertains to job duties.
• Adhere to quality control policies and calibrations; maintain documentation.
• Assume responsibility for quality issues and corrective actions.
• Maintain instruments and equipment per manufacturer specifications.
• Ensure clear and legible records and documentation practices.
• Perform proficiency testing per CLIA regulations and accurate reporting.
• Participate in continuing education and annual competency assessments.
• Follow policies when tests are not within acceptable performance levels.
• Identify problems affecting test performance and report to supervisors.
• Provide instruction and training in theory, skills, safety, and test protocols to learners.
