Job summary

Texas School for the Deaf in Austin is seeking a HS Wrestling Assistant Coach for a seasonal, part-time role. You will attend practices, assist with game administration, and help recruit athletes while building rapport with students.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, First Aid and CPR within one month, and sign language skills at SLPI INTERMEDIATE with documentation. Prior athletics experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Sign Language proficiency at SLPI INTERMEDIATE with documentation.

Responsibilities

• Attend practice sessions, meetings and other assignments as directed by head coach/athletic director.
• Supervise athletes during events and transport, ensuring safety and discipline.
• Assist with game administration and follow coaching philosophies.
• Supervise and instruct athletes and managers in equipment care and facility security.
• Promote sportsmanship and a positive image of the school.
