Job summary

Texas School for the Deaf Athletics in Austin, Texas, is seeking 5/6 Boys Basketball Coaches for a seasonal position. Starting immediately, hours are varied and coaches must maintain health and safety of athletes while promoting sportsmanship and positive school image.

Responsibilities include attending practices, assisting with game management, supervising athletes during events and travel, and ensuring proper storage of equipment and uniforms.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must obtain First Aid and CPR certification within one month of employment.
• Sign Language at hire with SLPI INTERMEDIATE proficiency; documentation required.

Responsibilities

• Attend practice sessions, meetings, and assignments directed by head coach/athletic director.
• Ensure health and safety of participants and promote good sportsmanship.
• Assist in game administration and follow coaching philosophies as advised.
• Supervise student athletes at events, in vehicles, locker rooms, gyms, fields, and dorms.
• Instruct and supervise equipment care, locker rooms, uniforms, and scorekeeping.
