Job summary

ProCare Therapy is seeking a contracted Sign Language Interpreter to support middle school students on a Davis-area campus. The role provides 37.5 hours weekly, Monday through Friday, with competitive pay and benefits.

You will interpret for classrooms, meetings, and activities, collaborate with teachers and support staff, and maintain confidentiality while preparing ahead of assignments. Ideal candidates hold EIPA 4.0 or RID and demonstrate Deaf culture awareness.

Qualifications

• 4.0 EIPA score or RID certification.
• Fluency in ASL and strong understanding of Deaf culture.
• Experience interpreting in educational settings, especially with middle school students.

Responsibilities

• Provide sign language interpretation for students, staff, and families during classroom instruction, meetings, assemblies, and extracurricular activities.
• Foster inclusive learning by facilitating communication between Deaf/hard-of-hearing students and their peers or teachers.
• Adhere to ethical and professional guidelines for educational interpreting.
• Prepare for assignments by reviewing lesson content and materials ahead of time.
• Collaborate with teachers, special education teams, and support staff to best meet students' communication needs.
• Maintain confidentiality and accurate records as required.
