Job summary

Moorhead School District 152 is seeking a dedicated Sign Language Interpreter to facilitate communication for hearing-impaired students with instructors, staff, and peers. The role focuses on ensuring clear communication and an inclusive learning environment across classrooms and activities.

Preferred candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree with sign language coursework and have 3–5 years of interpreter experience, along with applicable RID/ACCI certification or the ability to obtain.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent in Interpreter Training/Deaf Education; or a combination of education/experience/training which provides for an equivalent background necessary to perform the work.
• Any Certification accepted by the American Consortium of Certified Interpreters certification OR Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf certification or the ability to obtain.
• Three to five years of successful experience working as a sign language interpreter.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates communication between hearing impaired students and instructors, other students and staff.
• Maintains the environment and provides information to assist staff to support hearing impaired students.
