Job summary

NY SIGN ART INC is seeking a Sign Installer for a full-time, on-site role in South Plainfield, NJ. You will install interior and exterior signage at client locations, read installation plans, and ensure precise mounting and a professional finish.

You will safely operate hand and power tools, adhere to safety standards, and coordinate with teammates and project managers to meet deadlines. Some outdoor work and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Practical installation skills, including experience with hand and power tools, measuring devices, and basic construction or carpentry techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and installation instructions, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Knowledge of safety practices, including working at heights, using ladders and lifts, and complying with site and OSHA guidelines.
• Physical capability to lift, carry, and maneuver signage and materials, and to work on ladders or lifts for extended periods.
• Reliable teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with installers, project managers, and clients in a professional manner.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record; comfort driving company vehicles to installation sites.
• Previous experience in sign installation, construction, or a related trade is preferred but not required; on-the-job training may be provided.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in a related field is a plus.

Role Description

The Sign Installer is a full-time, on-site role based in South Plainfield, NJ. This position is responsible for installing a variety of interior and exterior signs at customer locations, ensuring accurate placement, secure mounting, and a professional appearance. Day-to-day tasks include reading and interpreting installation plans, safely operating tools and equipment, measuring and marking installation surfaces, and performing basic electrical connections where required. The Sign Installer will also assist with loading and unloading materials, maintaining tools and vehicles, following safety procedures, and collaborating with team members and project managers to ensure jobs are completed on time. The role may involve working at heights, outdoors in varying weather conditions, and occasional travel to job sites.
