Job summary

AWP Safety is seeking a Material Installer to transport and install a variety of signage and materials at client sites. You will review specifications, prepare items for mounting, and manage installation while adhering to safety protocols and MUTCD standards.

The role is field-based with a typical 40+ hour workweek, including potential evenings and weekends. Training is provided, including ATSSA certification and defensive driving, with opportunities for advancement within the company.

Qualifications

  • VALID DRIVERS LICENSE
  • Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills
  • Must adhere to and promote safe workplace practices
  • Good knowledge of various types of signs including vinyl, channel letters, electrical signs, and road signs.
  • The ability to operate hand and power tools.
  • Willingness to work during evenings and on weekends, as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that signs meet clients' specifications in terms of spelling, font, size, and medium.
  • Load and transport signs, tools, and materials to the location safely.
  • Install all signs to MUTCD code
  • Prepare the site for installation by removing old signage, preparing the surface or structure, and securing the electrical connections.
  • Ensure the effective measurement, placement, connection, and installation of the material.
  • Mount and installing signs or material in accordance with all safety protocols.
  • Clear debris and materials from the site after each installation.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs to material, as needed.
  • Operate and maintain the tools and equipment in accordance with safety protocols.
  • Maintaining all necessary communication with the Project Management Team, Director of Operations and Director of Sales Operations daily.
  • Properly completing all required paperwork as it pertains to logs, vehicle inspections, work order and timecards daily.
  • Obtaining and maintaining all required licenses in a timely manner as set forth by the company

Job Description

The Material Installer is responsible for the successful transportation and installation of a variety of signage and material types. A Material Installer is required to review and ensure that all material meets the required specifications for each project, prepare each item for mounting, and manage the placement and installation of all material as required. A successful Material installer is detail oriented, will demonstrate precision, is knowledgeable about the many different material types used and possesses a sound understanding of the applicable construction and installation techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Properly completing all required paperwork as it pertains to logs, vehicle inspections, work order and timecards daily.
  • Obtaining and maintaining all required licenses in a timely manner as set forth by the company
Qualifications

  • 2-year degree in a industrial-related field is a plus but not required
  • Must be able to and enjoy connecting with field-level customers and contacts

  • Typical workweek 40+ hours
  • Majority of time will be in the field
  • The position may work in outside conditions that include inclement weather, not limited to heat, cold, humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt
  • Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving vehicles, and occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites
  • Noise levels in the work environment and job sites can be loud
  • Position may lift or carry objects up to 50 pounds
  • If necessary, in the field, stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions; employee lifts pushes, pulls, or carries objects
