Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Nursing Associate for the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) on a 36-hour day schedule. The role provides administrative, clerical and patient care support to inpatient units, under supervision of a Registered Nurse.

The position involves managing admissions/discharges, maintaining patient charts, coordinating with staff, and ensuring unit safety and efficient workflow while delivering compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Education: high school diploma or equivalent.
• Licensure/certification: none required.
• Knowledge and abilities: excellent customer service, interpersonal and organizational skills; knowledge of medical terminology; basic computer skills; ability to communicate effectively in writing and speech.

Responsibilities

• Provides administrative, clerical and patient care support to inpatient nursing units.
• Assists with admissions, discharges and transfers to promote patient flow.
• Files documents in patient charts and handles messages for unit staff.
• Assists with basic patient care tasks under RN supervision; takes vitals, helps with feeding and personal care as directed.
• Maintains unit environmental safety and organization; inventories supplies and coordinates with Central Supply.
