Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital in Cleveland is offering a New Grad RN Resident position in our Surgical ICU (SICU). You will join a Magnet-designated team delivering advanced care for heart, vascular, trauma and neurological patients during nights.

As an RN Resident, you will work with a dedicated coach, participate in a one-year residency with tailored tracks, and grow through simulation labs and hands-on training while advancing your nursing career.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• ACLS certification must be presented upon hire or within first year of hire (if in a Critical Care area).
• New grad or less than one year RN work experience or moving from non-inpatient to acute direct care setting with less than one year current acute RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
• Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
• Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference, and resource availability).
• Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk.
• Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
• Document in patients’ medical records.
