MediaTek Research Lab Inc. is seeking a highly skilled SI/PI Senior Engineer/Manager to lead signal integrity and power integrity initiatives across chip, package, and PCB development workflows.

You will bridge architectural definition and final validation, define design constraints, and ensure robust PDN performance while enabling seamless integration of high-speed interfaces for consumer, automotive, and HPC products.

Qualifications

• 8+ years hands-on SI/PI design across chip, package and PCB in consumer/auto/datacenter/HPC domains.
• Deep expertise in memory interfaces, D2D connections and high-speed SerDes.
• Proficiency with EM simulation tools and circuit simulators.
• Ability to automate SI/PI methodologies using Python, Matlab, or C.

Job description

MediaTek is seeking a highly skilled SI/PI Senior Engineer/Manager to lead signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) initiatives across our chip, package, and PCB development workflows. This role is critical in delivering high-performance solutions for consumer, automotive, datacenter and enterprise HPC products. The successful candidate will bridge the gap between architectural definition and final product validation, ensuring robust design constraints, optimal PDN performance, and seamless integration of high-speed interfaces. He/She will play a pivotal role in defining the next generation of connectivity and power delivery for MediaTek's products.

Responsibilities

• Define comprehensive SI/PI specifications and design constraints for memory (DDR, LPDDR, HBM), D2D, and high-speed SerDes interfaces. Establish PDN specifications and power delivery requirements for high-performance CPU, GPU, APU blocks.
• Execute EM simulations for chip, package, and PCB systems using industry-standard tools. Generate accurate SPICE-level models for Si-PDN/IR analysis.
• Lead root-cause investigations for SI/PI issues encountered during silicon bring-up, prototype testing, or field returns.
• Provide technical support and consultancy to customers regarding SI/PI challenges. Coordinate closely with external partners and suppliers to align on process windows, material selections, and design-for-manufacturability (DFM) criteria.
• Author and maintain design guidelines, and best-practice manuals to standardize SI/PI methodologies across teams.

Main Requirements and Qualifications

• MS or above in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Communication Engineering, or Electromagnetic Engineering.
• 8+ years of hands‑on experience in signal integrity and power integrity design for chip, package, and PCB within the consumer, automotive, datacenter and enterprise HPC sectors.
• Deep expertise in SI/PI knowledge specific to memory interfaces, D2D connections, and high-speed SerDes. Proven track record in high-performance CPU/GPU/APU PDN and IR analysis.
• Proficiency with EM simulation tools such as Ansys and Cadence. Strong familiarity with circuit simulator tools including Cadence Spectre and Synopsys HSPICE.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide technical consultancy to customers.
• Coding skills and the ability to automate SI/PI methodologies using Python, Matlab, or C is a plus.
• About 10% international travel required.
• Salary range: $180,000- $301,000
• Employee may be eligible for performance bonus, short and long term incentive programs. Actual total compensation will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience and qualifications.
