Job summary

Slate Automotive LLC is seeking an energetic SI&OP Data Scientist to own forecast models for sales planning, inventory optimization, and procurement alignment across vehicle, parts, and merchandise lines. You will partner with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Purchasing, Production, and Finance to develop a rolling 12–24 month executable business plan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in data science, mathematics, statistics, or related field.
• 6+ years in data science with SI&OP, demand planning, or business management experience preferred.
• Experience with AI, machine learning, and predictive analytics for forecasting models.
• Strong analytical skills with data interpretation and forecasting models.
• Proficiency in Excel and BI/tools such as SmartSheets, Tableau, Alteryx, or scripting tools.
• Strong communication skills and ability to present complex data to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own predictive time-series, AI, and ML models for forecasting product sales across Slate’s units.
• Monitor forecast accuracy, bias, and refine models to improve quality.
• Partner with SI&OP Analysts to perform root-cause analyses and evaluate planning deviations.
• Translate complex outputs into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
• Design models to drive inventory optimization, safety stock, and capacity planning.
• Build and maintain forecasts enabling scenario planning with varying demand/supply inputs.
• Own data pipelines and dashboards to track model performance and KPIs.
• Support SI&OP monthly cycle with analysis and KPI reporting.
