Job summary

Double Tree Bloomington Minneapolis South (Franchise) is seeking a Shuttle/Van Driver to transport guests and staff in a safe, timely manner. The role reports to the Front Office Manager and supports passenger loading, safety procedures, and daily operations at the on-site hotel location.

The position is full-time, non-exempt, with 24/7 operations and potential for varied shifts. Candidates must be 18+ and legally eligible to work in the United States; a Minnesota driver’s license is required,

Qualifications

• Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
• Must report to work on time.
• Must be on-site and able to work all shifts.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States and complete Form I-9 on day one.
• Minnesota Driver's License (Required)
• Minnesota CDL (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Drives minibus, van, or lightweight truck to transport guests, clients, or staff according to schedule.
• Assists passengers into and out of vehicle and with loading/unloading baggage.
• Operates radio to communicate with base or other vehicles.
• Keeps records of trips and passenger behavior.
• Adheres to hotel safety standards.

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Non-Exempt

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time

REPORTS TO: Hotel or Front Office Manager

DEPARTMENT: Front Office

LOCATION: Double Tree Bloomington Minneapolis South (Franchise)

JOB SUMMARY

• Drives minibus, van, or lightweight truck to transport guests, clients, or company personnel by performing the following duties.
• Drives vehicle from individual or central loading area to near buy destinations according to assigned schedule.
• Assists passengers into and out of vehicle. Assist with loading and unloading baggage.
• Operates radio or similar device to communicate with base station or other vehicles to report status of service.
• Cleans and services vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories.
• Keeps records of trips and behavior of passengers.
• Adhere to hotel safety standards.
• Perform other duties and handle projects as assigned by Manager.
• Participate in OSHA/Safety programs within the hotel through awareness in every day job functions and participate on the Hotel’s Emergency Evacuation Team.
• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
• Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
• Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems.
• Must be able to sit at a desk for up to 5 hours per day. Walking and standing are required the rest of the working day. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.
• Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
• Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates.
• Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
• Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
• Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, 10-key adding machine, electric typewriter, multi-line touch tone phone, filing cabinets, FAX machines, photocopiers, dolly and other office equipment as needed.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the manager based upon the particular requirements of the hotel.

AVAILABILITY

Double Tree Bloomington Minneapolis South operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day. At times it may be necessary to move you from your accustomed work day, to include Holidays, or time of work if business or task assignments demand. In addition, it should be understood that business needs determine the amount of hours per week that you will work and that hours may fluctuate each week based on the needs of a 24/7 operation, including days, nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
