Job summary

SP+ is hiring a Shuttle Driver at Columbia College in Chicago. You will ensure safe operation of shuttle buses and passenger transport, perform inspections, keep buses clean, and assist disabled customers.

A valid state driver’s license and clean DMV record are required; punctuality and uniformed appearance are essential. Responsibilities include assisting customers, reporting incidents, managing spills, and potentially covering cashier/valet duties.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: Less than High School education or one month related experience, training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• License: Valid state driver's license with current address and acceptable DMV record.
• Availability to work: Special shift requirements; may include 3rd shift and/or weekends.
• Language: Ability to read, comprehend and write simple information; communicate with customers and employees.

Responsibilities

• Operate shuttle buses safely and transport passengers.
• Perform vehicle inspections, maintain cleanliness, fuel buses, log trips and assist disabled passengers.
• Be punctual, in uniform, and present in work attire.
• Possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable DMV record.
• Assist customers and direct them to the Facility Manager when needed.
• Report accidents, safety hazards or policy violations to the Facility Manager.
• Communicate debris or spills to the garage office.
• Substitute for cashiers or valets when authorized.
• Know all garage areas and major streets; assist travelers with luggage when applicable.
• Support the Facility Manager with other duties as needed.
