VetPride Services Inc. is hiring a part-time Shuttle Driver to support the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston, SC.

The role includes assisting VA employees, operating shuttles, and ensuring safety and timely transportation. The position offers a base hourly rate of $17.75 with a health and welfare fringe benefit totaling $5.09, bringing the total to $22.84 per hour. The job requires a SC CDL with P endorsement, a valid DOT Medical Certificate, and a DOT background check.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Background and DMV checks required
• Pre-employment drug screen required
• Strong customer service and calm conflict handling
• Reliable with consistent attendance
• Able to understand/speak/write basic English
• Ability to work independently and in teams
• Basic computer skills
• Must own a smartphone for Time & Attendance

Responsibilities

• Greet customers professionally on arrival and departure
• Assist customers with wheelchairs or walkers as needed
• Safely operate shuttle to/from parking and designated stops
• Follow safety procedures and VA rules
• Work as part of a driver team to meet schedule
• Conduct pre/post trip shuttle inspections
• Maintain shuttle cleanliness and refuel as needed
• Wear company uniform and maintain professional appearance
• Report issues to Site Supervisor
• Perform other duties as assigned
