Job summary

FedEx in Los Angeles is seeking a shuttle and package handler to load and unload aircraft and sort packages. The role requires basic training, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and operate related tools in a noisy environment.

The schedule runs Tuesday through Saturday from 3:00am to 9:00am, with hours potentially varying by operational needs. Starting pay is $22.25 per hour, with a range up to $32.52 per hour.

Qualifications

• Ability to successfully complete all basic and re-currency training.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to maneuver packages above 50 lbs with equipment/assistance.
• Ability to work with power and hand tools.
• Must meet FMCSA section 391 qualifications.
• Communicate verbally in a time-sensitive, noisy environment.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs and respond to directions.

Tues-Sat 0300am-0900am hours may vary due to operational needs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to successfully complete all basic and re-currency training. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs. with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person. Ability to work with power and hand tools. Must meet qualifications as outlined in section 391 of the federal motor carrier safety regulations. Effectively communicate verbally in a time sensitive manner in noisy operations environment. Must be at least 21 years of age. Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials and to respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.

Job Conditions

Requires medical exam in accordance with FHWA or FAA regulations. Non-covered safety sensitive position. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.Must be licensed for type of equipment assigned.

This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. Additional Details

Monday through Saturday with one scheduled day off during the week. Hours are 6:30 AM to 12:30 PM, Monday through Friday, and 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday.
