Job summary

Schwan’s Company is hiring a forklift operator at our New York area facility. This role moves semi-trailers, unloads goods, maintains inventory, and supports plant operations using SAP and RF devices. The position requires basic computer skills, a forklift license (Class A preferred), and a safety-conscious approach.

Starting pay is $25.50 per hour with Monday to Friday shifts, 8:00am to 5:00pm, in a team-focused environment that values reliability and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Must have basic computer skills.
• Forklift operator's license and valid Class A license or willingness to obtain one.
• Ability to operate trucks, forklift and pallet mover (single and double).
• Ability to use SAP system and RF equipment for inventory and loading.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions and memos.

Responsibilities

• Move semi-trailers to warehouse per instructions to unload/load materials.
• Unload ingredients from trucks at receiving docks using a forklift.
• Maintain inventory and notify supervisor to reorder materials.
• Provide packaging and supplies to plants; rotate stock using FIFO and SAP.
• Move product by batch codes and product numbers using SAP and RF equipment.
• Store and retrieve product FIFO using computer.
• Operate company vehicles to deliver products or pick up supplies.
• Perform light maintenance on forklifts and trucks; complete daily equipment checks.
• Perform cleaning of vehicles and ensure proper servicing.
• Adhere to safety policies and conduct standards.
