Job summary

The Washington Waldorf School is seeking a part-time Shuttle Bus Driver for our Takoma Park and Silver Spring locations for the 2026-2027 School Year. The role includes transporting school age children safely, performing pre/post trip inspections, and maintaining attendance logs.

Two shifts are offered: 6:15 am – 8:15 am and 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm, with compensation of $59.20 per shift. Applicants should be available Monday through Friday to cover shifts.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License
• Must be at least 25 years of age
• Clean Driving Record
• Successful completion of all WWS mandated training requirements
• Ability to pass Maryland criminal background check

Responsibilities

• Transport school age children safely and timely to and from their designated pick up location and WWS.

• Ensure children are accurately accounted for on attendance logs.
• Comply with all local, state, and federal transit and traffic regulations.
• Ensure the proper safety of all children when boarding and disembarking the shuttle bus.
• Ensure proper vehicle upkeep to include but not limited to being clean, presentable, and fueled for daily use.
• Report any defects, mechanical issues, and/or safety hazards to your supervisor in a timely manner.

• Comply with all local, state, and federal transit and traffic regulations.
• Ensure the proper safety of all children when boarding and disembarking the shuttle bus.
• Ensure proper vehicle upkeep to include but not limited to being clean, presentable, and fueled for daily use.
• Report any defects, mechanical issues, and/or safety hazards to your supervisor in a timely manner.

Requirements for the position include:

This position has two shifts. The hours for the morning shift are 6:15 am - 8:15 am and the hours for the afternoon shift are 3 pm - 5 pm. The compensation is $59.20 for each shift. We are looking for drivers who have any availability Monday - Friday to cover any shift.
