Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America is hiring for a production operator role in a cheese processing facility. The position requires operating stackers and conveyors, inspecting products, and maintaining a clean, safe work area. You will assist with changeovers and ensure adherence to GMPs and quality standards.

The role offers a starting wage of $21.41 per hour with a $2.00 second shift differential, benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and PTO, and a Monday–Friday schedule from 3pm to 1am.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma, or GED preferred.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Knows the different types of cheese to be handled.

Responsibilities

• Operate stacker jack to load lift tables with cheese.
• Open and inspect cheese before loading on conveyor.
• Process up to 70,000 pounds per shift.
• Follow DFA GMPs and safety requirements.
• Assist with machine changeovers and line cleanings.
• Ensure area is clean and safe.

Job description

Starting wage at $21.41 with additional $2.00 second shift differential

Shifts available: Monday- Friday 3pm-1am

• Operate stacker jack to load lift tables with proper cheese.
• Open and inspect cheese before loading on conveyor. Failure to properly remove all wrapper will result in substantial down time, rework and is a major concern for customer complaints.
• Keep conveyor loaded with cheese. Expect to process up to 70,000 pounds per shift.
• Shut down the line and notify the Lead person or Supervisor when any ingredient cheeses are in question.
• Follow the production lists to ensure the correct cheese blends.
• Keep area neat and clean for a safe working environment.
• Assist machine operators with Changeovers, Head changes and Harp changes.
• Tear down and blow down all machines for both dry and wet washes.
• Follow all DFA GMP's and work in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements. Inform QA personnel of any quality issues.
• Follow all safety requirements and wear proper PPE
• Follow and understand LO/TO procedures for all equipment during changeovers.
• Perform related duties as required.
• Operate or assist in operation of de-boxing machine and conveyor system during 40# processing.
• Remove corrugation and plastic wrappers from opening room.
• Partition blocks for blends when needed.
• Mix anti-cake blends when needed.
