Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America is hiring for a production associate to operate cheese loading equipment and support the conveyor line. You will inspect cheese blocks, remove wrappers, and help maintain up to 70,000 pounds per shift while following GMPs.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and the ability to read, write, and speak English. Medical, dental, vision benefits, 401K and PTO accompany this role; expect a wage of $21.41 per hour with full benefits.

Responsibilities

• Operate stacker jack to load lift tables with proper cheese.
• Open and inspect cheese before loading on conveyor; ensure wrappers are removed.
• Keep conveyor loaded and process up to 70,000 pounds per shift.
• Shut down the line and notify supervisor when ingredients are in question.
• Follow production lists to ensure correct cheese blends.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment; follow GMPs.
• Assist with changeovers and machine adjustments as required.
• Perform cleaning, de-boxing, and routine machine maintenance.
• Adhere to safety, LO/TO procedures, and PPE requirements.

Starting wage at $21.41 with additional $2.00 second shift differential

• Operate stacker jack to load lift tables with proper cheese.
• Open and inspect cheese before loading on conveyor. Failure to properly remove all wrapper will result in substantial down time, rework and is a major concern for customer complaints.
• Keep conveyor loaded with cheese. Expect to process up to 70,000 pounds per shift.
• Shut down the line and notify the Lead person or Supervisor when any ingredient cheeses are in question.
• Follow the production lists to ensure the correct cheese blends.
• Keep area neat and clean for a safe working environment.
• Assist machine operators with Changeovers, Head changes and Harp changes.
• Tear down and blow down all machines for both dry and wet washes.
• Follow all DFA GMP’s and work in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements. Inform QA personnel of any quality issues.
• Follow all safety requirements and wear proper PPE
• Follow and understand LO/TO procedures for all equipment during changeovers.
• Perform related duties as required.
• Operate or assist in operation of de-boxing machine and conveyor system during 40# processing.
• Remove corrugation and plastic wrappers from opening room.
• Partition blocks for blends when needed.
• Mix anti-cake blends when needed.
