Job summary

TTUHSC in Lubbock, TX, seeks a Part‑Time Adjunct Instructor for the Doctor of Physical Therapy program to teach Clinical Applied Physiology and coordinate entry‑level courses across TTUHSC campuses.

The successful candidate will bring a current Physical Therapist license with 10+ years of clinical experience and a demonstrated ability to teach and mentor health‑profession students, integrating advanced physiology into clinically relevant instruction.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Physical Therapist with 10+ years of clinical experience.
  • Experience teaching, mentoring, or educating health professions students.
  • Continuing education or background in exercise physiology.

Responsibilities

  • Lecture instruction and course coordination for entry-level DPT courses, including Clinical Applied Physiology.
  • Coordinate assigned DPT courses across TTUHSC campuses.
  • Develop, organize, and maintain course materials in the TechLink LMS.
  • Provide instruction during scheduled class sessions (Wednesdays 2:00–4:00 p.m.).
  • Communicate effectively with students, faculty and staff to support course operations.
  • Support the mission and educational goals of the DPT Program.

Visa Information

TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required. Position Description

The Adjunct Instructor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program is responsible for providing high-quality instruction and course coordination within the entry‑level DPT curriculum, with a primary focus on Clinical Applied Physiology.

This position supports student learning across multiple TTUHSC campuses through the development, organization, and delivery of course content utilizing TTUHSC educational technologies. The Adjunct Instructor collaborates with program faculty to ensure effective course administration, assessment, and student achievement while maintaining excellence in teaching and professional practice. The ideal candidate is an experienced physical therapist and educator with a passion for teaching and mentoring future clinicians in a Doctor of Physical Therapy program. This individual possesses strong expertise in clinical applied physiology and can effectively translate complex physiological concepts into engaging, clinically relevant instruction.

Essential Function
  • This position will include lecture instruction and/or course coordination within entry‑level DPT courses, specifically including Clinical Applied Physiology.
  • Coordinate assigned DPT courses, ensuring consistent delivery of course content and learning experiences across TTUHSC campuses.
  • Develop, organize, and maintain course materials, learning activities, and educational resources within the TechLink learning management system.
  • Provide instruction during scheduled class sessions, including anticipated teaching responsibilities on Wednesdays from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. during the TTUHSC fall semester.
  • Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff to support course operations and student success.
  • Support the mission, values, and educational goals of the TTUHSC School of Health Professions and the DPT Program.
Required Qualifications
  • Licensed physical therapist; at least 10 years of clinical experience.
  • Experience teaching, mentoring, or educating health professions students.
  • Continuing education or background in exercise physiology.
