Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking a Highly Skilled Shotpeen Technician to operate production equipment and support manufacturing processes, ensuring hardware meets engineering and quality specifications. You will read procedures, monitor controls, perform inspections, and contribute to continuous improvement with peers.

You will use gauges and inspection tools, conduct preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot issues under moderate supervision.

Qualifications

• Read, understand, and follow manufacturing processes and work instructions.
• One year of experience operating machine software and production equipment controls.
• Knowledge of GD&T symbols and their application.
• Experience operating machinery and producing quality hardware to defined specs.
• Ability to use gauges and inspection tools effectively.
• Ability to perform rework, repairs, and verifications accurately and consistently.
• Ability to complete preventive maintenance checks and verify completion.
• Troubleshooting skills to resolve common production issues.
• Proficiency with TipQA, Proficy, and Predator.
• Ability to work under moderate direct supervision while following documented directions.
• Ability to work autonomously on assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

• Read, understand, and follow all applicable processes, procedures, and work instructions.
• Operate machine software and controls effectively and safely to meet production requirements.
• Operate production‑ready machines to produce hardware meeting specifications.
• Perform rework and repairs per established process requirements.
• Inspect parts and identify quality issues to ensure precision and quality standards.
• Use required gauges and inspection equipment accurately for the operation.
• Perform verifications accurately and consistently per process requirements.
• Conduct preventive maintenance checks on machines and verify 100% completion.
• Follow defect procedures to minimize scrap and preserve hardware where applicable.
• Apply proper material handling techniques and use appropriate tools.
• Cross‑train in ID and Shot Peen operations to support multiple areas.
• Utilize production systems/tools including TipQA, Proficy, and Predator.
• Diagnose and resolve common production or process issues independently.
• Escalate issues when needed and identify the correct contact for support.
• Provide guidance and informal training to less experienced peers.
