Job summary

Empower Mental Health in Utah is seeking a licensed mental health therapist (LPC or LCSW) to provide short-term therapy for clients who have experienced personal injuries, such as car accidents. You will assess, plan, and deliver trauma-focused care to promote recovery.

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, maintain documentation, and ensure confidentiality while helping clients develop coping strategies and resilience within a limited treatment window.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field.
• State licensure as a Mental Health Therapist or Counselor.
• Specialized training or experience in trauma-focused therapies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience in short-term therapy for personal injuries.

Responsibilities

• Assessment and Treatment Planning: Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized short-term treatment plans.
• Therapeutic Interventions: Provide trauma-focused therapies (CBT, trauma-focused, mindfulness) for short-term care.
• Crisis Intervention: Respond to crisis situations and coordinate with emergency services.
• Education and Coping Strategies: Educate clients on effects of injuries and develop coping strategies.
• Collaboration with Multidisciplinary Team: Provide updates on clients' mental health progress.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain notes and reports for legal or insurance purposes.
• Ethical Standards: Safeguard confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics.
