Job summary

Empower Mental Health in Utah seeks a licensed Mental Health Therapist (LPC or LCSW) to provide short-term therapy to clients who have sustained personal injuries, such as car accidents, and to support emotional healing within a limited time frame.

You will perform assessments, develop treatment plans, deliver evidence-based interventions (CBT, solution-focused, mindfulness), handle crisis situations, educate clients on coping, and document progress for clinical and insurance purposes.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field.
• State licensure as a Mental Health Therapist or Counselor.
• Specialized training or experience in trauma-focused therapies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assessment and Treatment Planning: Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand the psychological impact of personal injuries on clients and develop individualized short-term treatment plans.
• Therapeutic Interventions: Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions for trauma, anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues using short-term modalities (CBT, solution-focused, mindfulness).
• Crisis Intervention: Respond to crisis situations and collaborate with emergency services when necessary.
• Education and Coping Strategies: Educate clients on psychological effects and coping strategies, fostering resilience.
• Collaboration with Multidisciplinary Team: Provide timely updates and insights on progress.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain session notes and treatment plans; generate reports for legal/insurance purposes.
• Ethical Standards: Adhere to confidentiality and professional guidelines.
