Job summary

Qualifications

• Be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet one of the following requirements: associate degree or 72 quarter credits / 48 semester credits; completed apprenticeship; PESB-approved assessment.
• May be required to complete behavior modification programs, including safe physical restraining techniques as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher(s) with daily supervision of students to maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
• Administer tests, collect and update diagnostic data, and assess student progress under the teacher’s direction.
• Monitor and manage student behavior; share observations with teachers and staff.
• Provide clerical and general classroom assistance as needed.
• Administer first aid and assist with physical needs of students; lift and assist students with equipment as required.
