Job summary

Emeco Underground is seeking an experienced Short Term Planner to coordinate maintenance for heavy mobile equipment on-site at a project-based site a few hours from Mackay. You will lead weekly planning, allocate labour and parts, and manage the backlog to maximise fleet reliability and uptime.

The role requires strong scheduling skills, a trade background, and experience with CAT, Hitachi, or Komatsu preferred. Interviews start in October and the team emphasises safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Experience as Short Term Planner or Maintenance Planner.
• Trade background with heavy mobile equipment preferred.
• Strong scheduling and planning experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a rolling weekly +2 maintenance plan.
• Coordinate labour, parts, tooling and resources for maintenance.
• Manage backlog, defects and priorities.
• Schedule condition monitoring and statutory maintenance.
• Balance workload against capacity and requirements.
• Lead weekly and daily maintenance planning meetings.
• Monitor plan compliance and drive improvement.
• Manage breakdown planning and warranty processes.
• Ensure work orders and CMMS records are complete.

As a Short Term Planner, you'll play a key role in coordinating and optimising maintenance activities to maximise fleet availability and reliability. Working closely with site and central teams, you'll ensure maintenance plans are executed safely and efficiently while minimising downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a rolling weekly +2 maintenance plan.
• Coordinate labour, parts, tooling and resources for scheduled maintenance.
• Manage maintenance backlog, defects and work priorities.
• Schedule condition monitoring work and statutory maintenance.
• Balance workload against labour capacity and operational requirements.
• Lead weekly and daily maintenance planning meetings.
• Monitor plan compliance and drive continuous improvement.
• Manage breakdown planning, component replacements and warranty processes.
• Ensure work orders and CMMS (AMT) records are completed accurately.

About You

• Previous experience in a Short Term Planner or Maintenance Planner role
• Trade background and experience with heavy mobile equipment (CAT, Hitachi and Komatsu preferred).
• Strong maintenance scheduling and planning experience.
• Ability to prioritise competing workloads and meet deadlines.
• Strong understanding of mining maintenance and equipment reliability.
