Job summary

Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking a Short‑Term Casual to support the SPOT‑TB study, an NIH‑funded, community‑based clinical research project in New York City. This per diem position involves on-site work at West Harlem and the Bronx and coordinating with clinical, imaging, and field teams.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in public health or related field, strong organization, and independent work skills; master’s in public health is preferred and experience with REDCap

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, health sciences, social sciences, or related field.
• Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to work independently in community settings.
• Experience with REDCap and community-based research is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates daily study operations across multiple community-based sites.
• Screens, enrolls, and consents participants in accordance with protocols.
• Maintains study data in REDCap and other required systems.
• Coordinates activities with study staff, volunteers, imaging technicians, and phlebotomy vendors.
• Maintains enrollment, tracking, and regulatory logs; assists with reporting.
• Acts as primary operational contact for assigned study activities and resolves logistics issues.
• Ensures compliance with study protocols and human subjects protections.

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary

Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking aShort‑Term Casual to support theSPOT‑TB study, an NIH‑funded, community‑based clinical research study focused on improving tuberculosis (TB) screening strategies among high‑risk populations in New York City.

This per diem position requireson‑site workat community‑based research locations inWest Harlem and the Bronx, and regular coordination with clinical, imaging, and field research teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates daily study operations across multiple community‑based research sites.
• Screens, enrolls, andconsentsstudy participantsin accordance withapproved protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Completes, reviews, andmaintainsstudy data and documentation inREDCapand other required systems.
• Coordinates activities with study staff, volunteers, imaging technicians, and mobile phlebotomy vendors.
• Maintains enrollment, tracking, and regulatory logs;assistswith reporting and audit readiness.
• Serves as the primary operational contact for assigned study activities and resolves routine logistical issues.
• Ensures compliance with study protocols, institutional policies, and humansubjectsprotection standards.
• Perform additional related duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, health sciences, social sciences, ora relatedfield.
• Demonstrated organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to work independently in community‑based settings.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in public health ora relatedfield.
• Experience withREDCapand/or community‑based research.

Other Requirements

• Participation in the medical surveillance program for personnel with patient or humansubjectscontact.
  • Contact with patients and/or human research subjects
  • Potential bloodborne pathogen exposure
• Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements.
