Columbia University Irving Medical Center seeks a part-time research assistant for the Migration and Nutrition Epidemiology team. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
The successful candidate will join the Migration and Nutrition Epidemiology team (https://manecumc.wixsite.com/mane) to work part-time primarily on the CAMINANDO and retinoblastoma studies. The duties include recruiting study participants, coordinating interviews and collecting data from study participants (60%) well as supervising student research assistants involved in supporting interviews (20%). The incumbent will assist in regular communication with community-based organizations (2%). The research assistant will participate in communication with other key investigators of the study as well as with the IRB (2%). The incumbent needs to be experienced in the administration of the sociodemographic, dietary, mental health assessments, NIH toolbox Cognitive and emotional Battery.
The research assistant will assist in data entry, working closely with the data manager (10%) and will assist in preparation of materials for publication, presentation, submission to conferences, and for meetings with community organizations (5%). The research assistant must be available to work flexible hours (can include early evenings, Saturdays, school holidays) to accommodate schedules of study participants, as well as being comfortable travelling to New Jersey and Long Island to assist with interviews. The position is part time, but the schedule would be 5 days a week in the afternoons.
