Job summary

KDC One Thibiant is seeking an Analytical Chemist in the Los Angeles area to test OTC and cosmetic bulk and finished products in accordance with QC specifications and regulatory requirements.

You will perform a variety of analytical methods, participate in method validation and transfer, calibrate equipment, and maintain GLP/GMP records while supporting OOS investigations and collaboration with the Lab Director.

Qualifications

• Experience performing analytical tests in GMP/GLP environments.
• Experience with HPLC, GC, ICP, FTIR and UV/Vis methods.
• Ability to follow USP or customer methods.
• Maintain GLP/GMP SOP compliance.
• Strong attention to documentation and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Promotes a safe working environment and adheres to SOPs, GMP, GLP.
• Perform analytical tests on bulk, finished products, and materials per QC specs.
• Operate instruments (HPLC, GC, ICP, FTIR, UV/Vis) and support method validation/transfer.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment; report issues to QA Manager.
• Record-keeping and compliance with GLP/GMP.
• Assist in OOS investigations and problem troubleshooting.
• Communicate issues with Lead Sr. Chemist and Lab Director.

General Description

The Analytical Chemist is responsible for testing OTC and cosmetic bulk, finished products, Stability products in compliance with the Quality Control Specifications, and regulatory agency requirements

Specific Responsibilities & Duties

• Promotes a safe working environment and adheres to Health, Safety and Environmental procedures, company safety rules, Good Laboratory Practices (GLD’s), Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) at all times.
• Perform analytical tests on Bulk, finished products, stability samples, raw materials, and other contract manufactured material in compliance with GMP and as directed by the QC Specifications.
• Perform variety of analytical methods using HPLC, GC, ICP, FTIR, UV/Vis, and variety of wet chemistries following USP or customer specified methods.
• Participate in method validation and method transfer as needed.
• Perform calibration and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment as directed by the Quality Assurance Manager.
• Conduct laboratory work and associated record keeping in a safe manner and in keeping with generally recognized GLP, GMP and company & customer’s SOP.
• Follow internal and customer specification.
• Participate in OOS Investigate and troubleshooting problems presented in test results.
• Responsible for maintenance and troubleshooting analytical instrument and clearly communicating the problems with Lead Sr. Chemist and Lab Director.

Physical Requirements

• Capable of lifting up to 25 lbs.
• Capable of standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Bachelor of science; Chemistry field preferred.
• Must have a minimum of 1-2 year experience in Quality Control preferably in analytical filed
• Full knowledge of working with and troubleshooting analytical instrumentation.
• Must be able to maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized work area. Maintains housekeeping in conformance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLD’s), Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
• Good time-management skills
• Good English communications skills: speaking, reading, and writing.
• Advance PC Knowledge i.e. MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) is preferred
• Flexibility to work long hours during peak season or special schedules as needed to satisfying job requirements.
