Job summary

KDC One is seeking an Analytical Chemist in Chatsworth, CA to perform QC testing on bulk, finished products, stability samples, and raw materials in compliance with QC specifications and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include method execution with HPLC, GC, ICP, FTIR, UV/Vis, and related wet chemistries, as well as participation in method validation and transfers.

The role requires a BS in Chemistry (or equivalent), 1–2 years of QC/analytical experience, and strong communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Chemistry; field preferred.
• Minimum 1–2 years in Quality Control, preferably analytical.
• Proficiency with analytical instrumentation and GMP/GLP knowledge.
• Good English communication skills (reading, writing, speaking).
• Advanced PC skills (MS Office).

Responsibilities

• Promotes a safe working environment and adheres to safety procedures (GLP, cGMP, SOPs).
• Perform analytical tests on bulk, finished products, stability samples, raw materials and contract materials per QC specifications.
• Execute methods using HPLC, GC, ICP, FTIR, UV/Vis and related wet chemistries per USP or client methods.
• Participate in method validation and method transfer as needed.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment as directed by QA Manager.
• Maintain accurate records in line with GLP, GMP, and SOPs.
• Follow internal and customer specifications and assist in OOS investigations.
• Communicate instrument issues to Lead Sr. Chemist and Lab Director.

General Description:

The Analytical Chemist is responsible for testing OTC and cosmetic bulk, finished products, Stability products in compliance with the Quality Control Specifications, and regulatory agency requirements

Specific Responsibilities & Duties:

• Promotes a safe working environment and adheres to Health, Safety and Environmental procedures, company safety rules, Good Laboratory Practices (GLD’s), Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) at all times.
• Perform analytical tests on Bulk, finished products, stability samples, raw materials, and other contract manufactured material in compliance with GMP and as directed by the QC Specifications.
• Perform variety of analytical methods using HPLC, GC, ICP, FTIR, UV/Vis, and variety of wet chemistries following USP or customer specified methods.
• Participate in method validation and method transfer as needed.
• Perform calibration and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment as directed by the Quality Assurance Manager.
• Conduct laboratory work and associated record keeping in a safe manner and in keeping with generally recognized GLP, GMP and company & customer’s SOP.
• Follow internal and customer specification.
• Participate in OOS Investigate and troubleshooting problems presented in test results.
• Responsible for maintenance and troubleshooting analytical instrument and clearly communicating the problems with Lead Sr. Chemist and Lab Director.

Physical Requirements

• Capable of lifting up to 25 lbs.
• Capable of standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods

Qualifications:

• High school education or equivalent.
• Bachelor of science; Chemistry field preferred.
• Must have a minimum of 1-2 year experience in Quality Control preferably in analytical filed
• Full knowledge of working with and troubleshooting analytical instrumentation.
• Must be able to maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized work area. Maintains housekeeping in conformance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLD’s), Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
• Good English communications skills: speaking, reading, and writing.
• Advance PC Knowledge i.e. MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) is preferred
• Flexibility to work long hours during peak season or special schedules as needed to satisfying job requirements.
• Ability to multi-task and follow through on project assignments
