Job summary

Kirby Inland Marine Lp in Channelview, TX seeks a shoreside worker to safely clean barges, inspect for customer specs, and perform facility maintenance, cleaning, and security duties. The role does not require service on any vessel.

You will assist with cargo transfer prep, monitor lines and valves, and comply with safety training and PPE. A valid driver’s license and ability to perform physical tasks are preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license preferred.
• Basic reading and writing skills required.

Responsibilities

• Barge Cleaning and Stripping Operations: identify cargo, test tanks for vapor toxicity and LELs, enter tanks to remove residual cargo, inspect cleanliness to customer specs, prepare dock/shore for loading and discharging liquid cargo, line up pipelines and operate valves and loading arms, monitor transfer via float gauges, maintain transfer documentation.
