Job summary

Kirby Corporation seeks a shoreside team member to safely clean barges, monitor transfers, and perform facility maintenance and janitorial duties. You will coordinate with chemists and hygienists to ensure vapor toxicity levels are safe for entry and perform security and safety tasks as assigned.

Ideal candidates have 1+ years in deckhand or mechanical/construction roles, and a high school diploma or GED. On-site, 12-hour shifts, with some night work, are part of the schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
• 1+ years of deckhand experience preferred.
• 1+ years of mechanical and construction experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Barge cleaning and stripping to customer specifications.
• Inspect hoses and tanks for wear, ensuring safety standards.
• Maintain dock, pumps, and truck rack as required.
• Familiarize and enforce facility security requirements.
• Operate, calibrate, and log gas monitor information.
• Work rotating 12-hour shifts, day and night, as needed.
