Job summary

Burlebo, a growing direct-to-consumer brand, seeks a Shopify Plus Developer to own the storefront tech and apps that power it. You will build and replace third-party apps with in-house solutions, focusing on performance, conversions, and maintainable architecture.

You will collaborate with technology leadership and cross-functional teams to ship high-impact improvements and define engineering practices for long-term sustainability.

Qualifications

About the role

We're a fast-growing direct-to-consumer brand, and we're looking for a Shopify Plus Developer to own the technical development of our storefront and the apps that power it.

This is a builder's role with real ownership. You'll write custom Shopify apps, replace third-party apps with in-house solutions where it makes sense, and have a genuine voice in how we improve the customer experience. We don't want someone who only executes a ticket queue — we want a technical partner who brings ideas about performance, conversion, and what's worth building versus buying.

You’ll partner closely with our technology leadership and cross-functional teams (marketing, merchandising, ops).

What you'll own

• The technical roadmap for our Shopify storefront, in partnership with technology leadership.
• The build, deployment, and maintenance of our custom apps and integrations.
• Site performance and the technical side of conversion‑rate optimization.

Nice to have

• Headless / Hydrogen experience (or interest in moving us that direction over time).
• Experience at a high-growth DTC brand.
• CRO / performance optimization track record with measurable results.
• Experience migrating off paid apps to custom solutions.
• Familiarity with our specific integration surface (ERP, PIM, subscriptions, email/SMS platforms).

Who you'll work with

• Technology leadership — your manager and primary technical collaborator.
• Cross-functional partners in marketing and operations.

What success looks like (first 6–12 months)

• You’ve ramped on our store architecture and integration landscape.
• You’ve identified and begun replacing at least one high‑cost third‑party app with a maintainable in‑house build.
• You’re proactively surfacing site‑experience and performance improvements, with at least a few shipped and measured.
• You’ve established baseline engineering practices (documentation, deployment, version control) so the work you build is maintainable beyond any single person.
