Job summary

Pit Viper is seeking an experienced E-Commerce Tech Lead to manage and quality-control our Shopify storefronts across the U.S., Canada, and Australia. You will lead external developers, set requirements, and coordinate with Marketing, Merchandising, Sales, and Operations to deliver a seamless online shopping experience.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, back-end integration oversight (Celigo/NetSuite), and collaboration with agencies to ensure on-time, high-quality releases.

Qualifications

• Deep, hands-on experience with Shopify (Shopify Plus strongly preferred), including theme architecture and the Shopify admin.
• Proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Shopify Liquid, and SQL.
• Experience using GitHub for version control, branching, pull requests, and code review.
• Proficient use of AI development tools (coding assistants and agents) to accelerate development, code review, and documentation.
• Experience managing external developers, contractors, or agency teams, including scoping work, setting priorities, and reviewing deliverables.
• Ability to write clear technical requirements, briefs, and tickets that developers can execute from.
• Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and developers across different storefronts and regions.
• Understanding of eCommerce UX best practices and web merchandising.
• High attention to detail for QA and code review.
• Comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams and external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Development Management & Technical Leadership: Own the development backlog for the DTC and B2B storefronts and coordinate external developers.
• Shopify Front-End Development & Site Maintenance: Manage front-end projects across storefronts and oversee UI/UX updates.
• Integration Oversight (Celigo + NetSuite): Scope and review Celigo flows and ensure data sync integrity.
• Agency & Vendor Coordination: Write clear technical tickets and ensure quality before implementation.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Support Merchandising, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Service with technical needs.
• Testing, QA & Performance Monitoring: QA features, run performance checks, and document changes.
