Painting. Grinding. Welding. Fabrication. Piece Shop. Custom Work. Are you an experienced MIG Welder? Does building, fabricating, and hands-on custom work excite you? Are you looking to be a part of a growing company that offers great benefits? We are now looking for an experienced Shop Worker, who is seeking a consistent and steady work schedule on 1st shift in Menomonie.

Position Details

• Position: Welder/Shop Person
• Location: Menomonie, WI
• Start Date: Immediate
• Employment Term: Temp-to-Hire
• Type: Full-Time
• Work Hours: 1st Shift (6am–4:30pm, Monday-Friday, with occasional OT and Saturdays)
• Starting Pay: $20-25/hour, based on experience
• Benefits: Health/Life Insurance, 401(K), Holiday Pay, Profit Sharing after permanent hire

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum MIG welding experience

Responsibilities

• Prepping, cutting, fabricating, and welding steel according to blueprints and customer specifications
• Additional duties: painting, grinding, forklift operation, and shop maintenance
• Proficient in measuring with steel rulers and tape measures
• Strong hand tool skills and ability to work independently

Additional Duties

• Adhere to safety policies
• Read and interpret drawings and diagrams
• Measure and mark metal components
• Lift and position components using overhead cranes
• Assemble and tack-weld parts for final welding
• Finish welds and perform routine maintenance on equipment
• Operate material handling equipment
• Assist with shop tasks such as grinding, painting, and maintenance
• Potential training on fabrication machines
• Ensure quality standards are met

Qualifications

• Verifiable welding experience
• Ability to read mechanical drawings
• Experience with grinding, painting, forklift operation
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Physically capable of lifting 50+ pounds and working in demanding conditions
• Commitment to attendance, minimum 50 hours/week
