Job summary

Airgas is hiring a Shop Laborer in Charlotte, NC to maintain a safe, organized shop environment, assist technicians, and perform machine testing and minor repairs. The role operates Monday–Friday, 7:30 am–4:30 pm, with hourly pay and bonus potential.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, 0–1 years’ related experience, and a valid driver’s license. Benefits include medical/dental/vision, 401(k) with match, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 0-1 years of related technical experience; we welcome those early in their career or transitioning from similar fields.
• Possession of a valid Driver's License is required for this role.

Responsibilities

• Keep a clean working environment and assist other technicians in the shop as needed.
• Test and calibrate machines to see if they are functional for rent or sale.
• Repaint parts, touch up paint, and put decals on welders to keep up the general appearance.
• Replace defective parts and do any preventative maintenance required.
• Get parts as required in order to complete repairs.
• Inspect returned equipment for proper operation and /or damage by the customer.
• Operate a forklift, pallet jack or other necessary equipment to move machines and equipment in the shop.
• Maintains communication with all branch personnel.
• Performs other related operational/shop duties as required.
