Peterson Machinery Co. is seeking an experienced Shop Technician for our Salem, OR location. The role focuses on service activities in the main shop for customer and rental fleet equipment.

You will diagnose malfunctions, perform high-quality repairs, document work and parts, and ensure safety and punctuality. Ideal candidates have an Associate degree in Diesel Technology and at least three years of related experience, with strong knowledge of Caterpillar equipment and diesel systems.

Competenze

• Associates Degree in Diesel Technology or closely related field; 3+ years in heavy equipment service or equivalent experience.
• Drug screen and background check required. Minorities and veterans encouraged to apply.

Mansioni

• Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to safety procedures.
• Diagnose and analyze equipment malfunctions.
• Perform pre-delivery setup and installation on Caterpillar equipment.
• Repair or rebuild engines, transmissions, fuel systems, hydraulics, and related components.
• Prepare documentation including work orders and timecards; write clear service reports.
• Maintain punctual, regular attendance and follow company guidelines.
