Job summary

Peterson Cat in Medford, OR is seeking an experienced Shop Technician to perform service and repair work on Caterpillar equipment in the main service shop. You will diagnose malfunctions, perform pre-delivery setups, and document each activity with detailed service reports.

The ideal candidate has an Associate's Degree in Diesel Technology and at least three years of related experience in heavy equipment service.

Qualifications

Associates Degree from a fully accredited college or technical/vocational school in Diesel Technology.
Minimum of three years of directly related experience in heavy equipment service.

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe working environment and observe all safety procedures, laws, policies, and rules.
Analyze and diagnose equipment malfunctions.
Pre-delivery setup and installation on Caterpillar equipment and allied products.
Repair, replace or rebuild engines, transmissions, fuel systems, final drives, steering clutches, cross-shafts, hydraulic components including pumps, motors, valves, and all related components, electrical and air systems.
Write service reports that accurately document activities.
Prepare required documentation including work orders, parts lists, and timecards in an accurate and timely manner.
Follow manufacturer and company service guidelines and procedures to ensure quality work.
Operate company or personal vehicle as needed.
Maintain punctual, regular and predictable attendance.
