Job summary

Downingusa is seeking a Shop Technician to assemble equipment for sale or rent in the oil and gas sector. You will read blueprints and procedures, perform shop maintenance, and prepare equipment for transport.

Responsibilities include painting, testing, and inspection of Wellhead and Frac equipment, plus maintaining tools and adhering to QHSE standards. High school diploma and 1 year related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures.
• Working knowledge of mechanical assemblies and basic hand tools.
• Ability to read, write and communicate well.
• Determine the correct equipment and tools needed to do a job correctly.
• Limited computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assembly of new equipment in Downing’s product offering for sale or rent.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and procedures.
• Execute general shop maintenance such as cleanup of shop, work area and equipment.
• Preparation of Equipment for Transport
• Clean, assemble, test, and paint Wellhead and Frac equipment.
• Necessary upkeep of all hand and power tools
• Perform duties for QHSE as related to safety and quality, training of personnel, safety & quality reports, logs, etc.
• Perform other duties as assigned
