Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect incoming materials, verifying part numbers, quantities, and condition against purchase orders and packing slips. Report shortages, damage, and discrepancies promptly.
• Accurately record inventory receipts, transfers, returns, and materials used in fabrication. Label and store products in designated locations, and pick, package, and stage customer orders.
• Complete scheduled inventory counts, investigate discrepancies, and submit necessary adjustments for approval. Communicate low-stock items, replenishment needs, and damaged or slow-moving inventory to the appropriate manager or purchasing contact.
• Perform assigned fabrication and assembly activities according to approved work orders, drawings, measurements, and instructions. Depending on the products involved, tasks may include measuring, cutting, drilling, grinding, threading, fitting, and assembling materials or components.
• Verify materials, dimensions, fit, and workmanship before releasing completed work. Report defects or unclear specifications, and obtain approval before making substitutions or changes.
• Record materials used, completed quantities, and scrap as required. Maintain tools and shop equipment in serviceable condition, and perform only work for which the employee has been trained and authorized.
• Assist walk-in and telephone customers professionally, identify requested products, and verify part numbers, quantities, and specifications. Refer technical questions beyond the employee’s knowledge or authority to the appropriate team member.
• Provide approved pricing and availability information, enter customer orders, and prepare sales tickets or other required documentation. Process payments and returns when assigned, following company procedures.
• Coordinate order picking, staging, and customer pickup. Communicate shortages, backorders, and special-order needs, and obtain approval for discounts, substitutions, or commitments outside established authority.
• Perform routine facility inspections, preventive upkeep, and minor repairs within the employee’s training and authorization. Examples may include painting, adjusting shelving or door hardware, and general shop or grounds upkeep.
• Maintain orderly work areas, storage locations, walkways, and entrances. Identify and report damaged equipment, building concerns, and conditions that could affect safe operations.
• Maintain basic maintenance records and assist approved service providers as directed. Refer specialized electrical, plumbing, heating and air-conditioning, structural, or other repairs beyond the employee’s qualifications to management.
