Job summary

Matrix Service Co. is seeking a capable fabrication/machine shop worker to support lifting, positioning and removal of fabricated pieces, assisting welding and fitting on the shop floor.

You will operate tools, loaders and hand tools in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality. Responsibilities include surface prep for fabrication, welding, painting or shipping, basic maintenance, and keeping the work area clean and organized.

Qualifications

• Previous experience and/or training in a fabrication or machine shop environment is required.
• Ability to operate tools and equipment applicable to position.
• Working knowledge of basic hand tools.
• Ability to communicate well with others in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an active status within company designated drug consortium.
• Regular and reliable attendance is required in this role.

Responsibilities

• Help with the lifting, positioning and removal of fabricated pieces from machines to assist with welding and fitting.
• Loading, stacking and transporting materials, tools and fabricated pieces by hand or using equipment such as forklifts.
• Clean and prepare surfaces for fabrication, welding, painting, or shipping.
• Perform basic maintenance on equipment and report any irregularities.
• Keep the work area clean and organized to maintain a safe working environment.
• Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.
