Job summary

Ziegler CAT is seeking an experienced Diesel Technician at our Dayton location. You will diagnose and repair a variety of compact construction equipment, document work orders, and follow safety procedures in a team-focused environment.

Qualifications include a 2-year diesel tech degree or equivalent experience, 2+ years in diesel repair, and proficiency with engines, hydraulics, and electronics. Dependable with own tools and strong communication needed.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical college degree in diesel technology or related field.
• 2+ years of relevant diesel engine/equipment repair experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of engines, hydraulics, driveline, electrical/electronics, diesel exhaust systems, and fuel systems; CAT experience is a plus but not required.
• Ability to write and communicate effectively and interact with supervisors, customers and team members.
• Basic computer skills to document work orders and utilize online diagnostic systems.
• Own mechanic tool set.
• Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• This role is deemed safety sensitive and requires the ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug test.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair equipment including skid steers, compact wheel loaders, mini excavators, aerial lifts, tele-handlers, CUVs, among other light and medium construction equipment.
• Document work orders in a complete and timely manner to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Work safely at all times, following company policies, procedures and standards.
• Work collaboratively and assist other technicians as needed regarding troubleshooting repairs.
• Participate in ongoing training to enhance mechanical skills and grow product knowledge.

Ziegler CAT has an opening for an experienced Diesel Technician to work on a variety of compact construction equipment at our Dayton location. Hours: Tuesday-Friday, 7:30am-5pm and Saturdays 8-noon.

The pay range for this position is $27.00 to $45.00. Starting wage is dependent on skills, experience, education and location. Pay range may vary by 10% depending upon the applicant’s location.

• Ability to write and communicate effectively and interact with supervisors, customers and team members
