Job summary

Ziegler Caterpillar in Dayton, KY is seeking a Rental Diesel Technician to service Ziegler-owned rental compact equipment and non-CAT units at our Dayton location. Hours: Tue–Fri 7:30am–5pm and Sat 8am–noon.

Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing equipment such as skid steers, mini excavators, aerial lifts, and more; maintaining complete work orders and adhering to safety standards; and participating in ongoing training to grow mechanical skills and knowledge.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical college degree in diesel technology or related field or 2 years of equivalent shop experience (high school diploma/GED + 2 years).
• 2+ years of diesel engine/equipment repair experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of engines, hydraulics, driveline, electrical/electronics, diesel exhaust systems, and fuel systems; Caterpillar experience is a plus but not required.
• Ability to write and communicate effectively with supervisors, customers and team members.
• Basic computer skills to document work orders and use online diagnostic systems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair equipment including skid steers, compact wheel loaders, mini excavators, aerial lifts, tele-handlers, CUVs and other light/medium construction equipment.
• Document work orders completely and timely to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Work safely at all times, following company policies and standards.
• Collaborate with other technicians and assist with troubleshooting repairs.
• Participate in ongoing training to enhance mechanical skills and product knowledge.

Ziegler CAT has an opening for a Rental Diesel Technician to work on a variety of Ziegler owned rental compact construction equipment and a variety of non-CAT rental equipment at our Dayton location. Hours: Tuesday-Friday, 7:30am-5pm and Saturdays 8-noon.

The pay range for this position is $27.00 to $45.00

Starting wage is dependent on skills, experience, education and location. Pay range may vary by 10% depending upon the applicant's location. Along with competitive pay, full time positions are benefits eligible which includes:

Qualifications :

• 2+ years of relevantdiesel engine/equipment repair experience is preferred

• Working knowledge of engines, hydraulics, driveline, electrical/electronics, diesel exhaust systems, and fuel systems; working on Caterpillar is a plus but not required

• Ability to write and communicate effectively and interact with supervisors, customers and team members

• Basic computer skills to document work orders and utilize online diagnostic systems

• Own mechanic tool set

• Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment

• This role is deemed safety sensitive and requires the ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug test
