Xylem is seeking a Shop Technician Level 1 to evaluate, repair, and test submersible wastewater pumps in an industrial shop setting. The role involves operating equipment such as forklifts and cranes, using hand and power tools, and maintaining accurate records in our work-order system.

The position emphasizes a safe, organized work environment and collaboration within a team, with potential travel for training and a comprehensive benefits package including a four-week PTO.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• 0–2 years of technical work experience; 1 year preferred.
• Electrically and mechanically inclined; able to troubleshoot and think critically.
• Able to communicate technical information clearly; proficient with MS Office and smart devices.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, repair, and conduct mechanical and electrical testing of submersible wastewater pumps.
• Operate industrial equipment in a shop environment (e.g., forklift, overhead cranes).

THE ROLE

• Evaluate, repair, and conduct mechanical and electrical testing of submersible wastewater pumps

DAY IN THE LIFE

In this role, the working environment is an industrial shop setting where use of PPE is required. May also include exposure to hazardous material and loud noises. The physical demands may include but not limited to, standing and lifting to 50 lbs. In addition, this role may require overtime, and travel may be needed for training sessions.
