Purpose

The goal of the Shop Technician is to learn the practical techniques for preparing NDT Global's tools, and to perform and guide work in the refurbishment, assembly, testing, and transport preparation of pipeline inspection tools to ensure successful project execution.

Responsibilities

• Support and assist with robot inspection tools:
• Assembly, configuration, and verification to a defined build state
• Testing for proper setup and functionality
• Maintenance and refurbishment of inspection tools
• Interpret technical drawings for robot assembly
• Report potential issues to supervisors promptly
• Complete procedures and checklists per NDT protocols
• Ensure safety, quality, and customer service standards are met
• Perform daily risk assessments following HSEQ standards
• Facilitate information flow between departments for successful project builds

Requirements and Education

• Two-year degree, diploma, or technical training in Mechatronic, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering
• 1-2 years relevant work experience, preferably in oil and gas sector
• Experience with In-line Inspection (ILI) or Ultrasonic (UT) technologies is preferred
• Knowledge of safety standards in industrial environments
• Familiarity with inventory and maintenance management software
• Aptitude for learning new technologies
• Hands-on experience with mechanical, electronic, and hydraulic systems
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and configurations
• Proficiency in spoken and written English
