NDT Global is a leading provider of advanced diagnostic inspection solutions, data analysis, and integrity assessment services for energy-sector infrastructure. We are recognized for ultrasonic inspection technologies such as Pulse Echo, Pitch-and-Catch, and Phased Array, along with Acoustic Resonance (ART Scan) methodologies. Our company also utilizes various non-ultrasonic technologies, including Inertial Measurement Units, with ongoing development of new methods. Our goal is to detect, diagnose, and model threats like cracks, metal loss, and geometric issues across diverse assets, providing predictive insights that help optimize infrastructure health, improve operational efficiency, reduce risks, and minimize environmental impact.

Purpose

The purpose of the Shop Technician is to learn practical techniques for preparing NDT Global's tools and to assist in the refurbishment, assembly, testing, and transport preparation of pipeline inspection tools, ensuring the successful completion of projects.

Responsibilities

  • Support and assist with robot inspection tools, including assembly, configuration, verification, and testing
  • Perform maintenance and refurbishment of inspection tools
  • Interpret technical drawings for assembly and maintenance tasks
  • Identify and report potential issues during assembly or maintenance
  • Complete procedures and checklists following NDT protocols
  • Ensure safety, quality, and customer service standards are met
  • Conduct daily risk assessments per HSEQ standards
  • Facilitate communication between departments to support project success

Requirements and Education

  • Two-year degree, diploma, or technical vocational training in Mechatronic, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience, preferably in oil and gas
  • Knowledge of In-line Inspection (ILI) or Ultrasonic (UT) is preferred
  • Understanding of industrial safety standards
  • Familiarity with inventory and maintenance management software
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical, electronic, and hydraulic systems
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and measurement instruments
  • Ability to read technical drawings and understand tool configurations
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English

  • Ability to follow manuals, schematics, and blueprints
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment
