Job Description

Job Summary

Supports the daily shop operations of various testing, repair, and maintenance activities. Under direct supervision, performs varied tasks of intermediate complexity while keeping records of maintenance work performed.

Job Responsibilities

• Assists the Shop Management by ensuring equipment operation and reliability by inspecting, assessing, and following operating instructions; troubleshoots and repairs equipment as needed.
• Maintains required supplies, tools and is responsible for organizing the shop facility.
• Assists with correcting equipment deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing components, parts, or systems.
• Verifies equipment performance by conducting tests and adjusting controls and systems.
• Maintains records of equipment maintenance, servicing, and repairs.
• Assists to make sure equipment, parts, supplies, and tools are in stock and in good repair.
• Performs preventative maintenance and repair.
• Maintains a safe and clean environment by complying with procedures.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Two (2) or more years of equipment maintenance, construction, and repairs along with a willingness to learn about new resources used in the industry. Knowledge of refinery turnaround planning, execution, and scheduling.
• Experience using semi-automated or automated tools and machines.
• Experience working with drains, safety valves etc. is preferred.
• Proficient in the use and application of Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
• Forklift Certified highly preferred
• CDL is a Plus

Physical Requirements:

• Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to place pumps into position in barrels. Proper lifting techniques required. May include lifting to 50 lbs. overhead with both hands during pump placement.
• Work is generally performed in oil/chemical refinery or pipelines and tank terminals.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee may have to stand repeatedly, stoop, speak, listen, and use hands to seize, grip, hold, reach, turn, lift, or carry objects 25 lbs. or more, and use equipment requiring high dexterity.
• Frequent exposure to dust (chemical and environmental), fumes (chemical and fluids), exhausts and highly pressurized fluids. (Respiratory protective equipment will be provided when required.)
• Occasional work under extreme climate conditions (excessive high heat index of 95+degree Fahrenheit, 98% humidity; and sub-zero weather conditions) relative to geographic location.
• The noise level in the work environment is often in excess of 85dBa.
