Job summary

Scheels in Eden Prairie, MN is seeking a Maintenance Technician to diagnose, maintain and assemble store equipment across a busy retail floor. The role covers bikes, skis, snowboards, golf clubs, and more, with attention to safety and records management.

Responsibilities include ordering parts, repairing gear, and helping with delivery and loading at the store or to customers' homes. Flexibility for varied hours and a strong emphasis on accuracy are required.

Qualifications

  • Clean, valid driver's license required.
  • Willingness to obtain DOT certification.
  • Mechanical knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, maintain and assemble customer and store equipment (bicycles, exercise machines, skis, snowboards, hockey gear, golf clubs, racquet sports, paintball markers, etc.).
  • Order and follow up with vendors for repair parts.
  • Safely fill CO2 and compressed air tanks for paintball markers.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records for store and customer equipment.
  • Assist with delivering and loading customer equipment and merchandise at the store and to customer residences.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Must be flexible to work assigned schedules between 9 am and 9 pm, Monday through Saturday, and 11 am and 6 pm on Sunday. Schedule may include varied hours, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

Equipment may involve bicycles, exercise machines, snowboards, skis, hockey skates and sticks, baseball gloves and bats, golf clubs, racquet sports, archery arrows, paintball markers, and other merchandise in a Scheels Store

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records for store and customer equipment
  • Assist with delivering and loading customer equipment and merchandise at the store and to customer residences

Education & Experience

The ideal candidate must possess a clean, valid driver’s license and be willing to obtain DOT certification and meet Scheels driving standards. Mechanical knowledge is preferred

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Very heavy work - Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for heavy work.
