Job summary

FLORIDA ROCK & TANK LINES INC seeks a Shop Tech (Diesel Mechanic) to service tractor-trailers at the Doraville, GA facility. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, diagnostic work, and basic repairs on company vehicles. Candidates should have one year of mechanical experience and basic computer skills.

Applicants may need a CDL Class A with Hazmat endorsement; own tools (up to 1/2 drive) are required. Flexible with overtime and a 40-hour week.

Qualifications

• One-year mechanical experience required.
• Petroleum tank repair experience and certifications highly preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of verifiable experience working on air brake systems.
• Ability to perform annual federal inspections on trucks and trailers.
• Must provide own tools up to 1/2" drive.
• CDL Class A with Hazmat endorsement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain tractors and repair company vehicles as needed.
• Basic computer skills and diagnostic knowledge.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on fleet vehicles.
• Be able to lift and move items up to 70 lbs (team lift for heavier items).
• Work a 40-hour week with possible overtime.

Shop Tech (Diesel Mechanic)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for vehicle maintenance of tractor-trailers and repair on all company vehicles as needed
• General knowledge and mechanical skills Reliable transportation
• Basic hand tools
• Be able to lift to 70lbs (Over 70lbs team lift required)
• Basic Computer Skills requires (Diagnostic computer skills a plus)
• Able to work a 40-hour work week
• Able to work occasional overtime
• Preventive Maintenance Work required
• Must be trained in basic air brake and ABS functions and diagnostic.

Knowledge and Skills

• One-year mechanical experience required

Education and Work Experience

• Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement preferred
