Job summary

Road Machinery & Supplies Co. is seeking a Shop Technician for our Rochester, MN location to service and repair mobile heavy equipment and perform routine maintenance to keep the fleet running.

The ideal candidate has a technical diploma in Diesel Engine Repair or Automotive Technician and prior experience is welcome. We offer full benefits, competitive pay, and opportunities to grow within the company.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of DC electrical troubleshooting process and operation.
• Knowledge of basic hydraulic system structure, function, and operation.
• Knowledge of basic diesel engine operation and aftertreatment structure, function and operation.
• Able to work responsibly, safely, and intelligently.
• Have the desire to take action, improve, and be appreciative.
• Possess the capability to engage with customers, co-workers, and vendors in a respectful manner.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on all types of mobile heavy equipment.
• Troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repairing Tier IV Interim and Tier IV Final engine complaints.
• Troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair to various types of mobile equipment hydraulic systems.
• Troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of basic DC electrical systems

Road Machinery & Supplies Co. is searching for a Shop Technician to join its team at its Rochester, MN location. In this role, you will be responsible for servicing and repairing various types of mobile heavy equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance on all types of mobile heavy equipment.
• Troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repairing Tier IV Interim and Tier IV Final engine complaints.

Qualifications/Skills:

• Technical or Associates in Diesel Engine Repair or Automotive Technician Diploma
• Prior experience is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of DC electrical troubleshooting process and operation.
• Knowledge of basic hydraulic system structure, function, and operation.
• Knowledge of basic diesel engine operation and aftertreatment structure, function and operation.
• Able to work responsibly, safely, and intelligently.

Minimum Physical Requirements:

• Push/pull up to 50 lbs
• Lift/carry up to 60 lbs
• Lift bulky objects
• Standing, walking, using hands, talking, hearing, neck rotation, trunk rotation, stair climbing, ladder climbing, repetitive bending, kneeling, sustained squat, forward reaching, overhead reaching, supine overhead reaching, crawling, high steps, fingering/grasping.
• Working conditions may be indoor and/or outdoor. Noise level may be loud at times.
