Job Description: Shop Mechanics at H&K Equipment

H&K Equipment is the premier dealer of forklifts, container handlers, railcar movers, utility vehicles, and more in Pittsburgh and the greater tristate area. Headquartered minutes from downtown Pittsburgh, with additional facilities in West Virginia, we sell, rent, service, and rebuild a unique selection of custom and heavy-duty material handling equipment. Our technicians and in-house capabilities enable us to handle jobs that no other shop can.

We are seeking Shop Mechanics with heavy equipment experience to join our Coraopolis, PA team for immediate hire. The role involves servicing various types of material handling equipment and forklifts. The ideal candidate should work independently with limited supervision, possess their own tools, and be open to training if transitioning from auto mechanics.

Responsibilities

1. Inspect, diagnose, and service heavy lift equipment (diesel, electric, or LP fueled) to identify technical problems.
2. Determine required repairs.
3. Maintain equipment service records.
4. Conduct regular preventative maintenance tasks.
5. Test mechanical equipment post-repair to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturer specifications.
6. Utilize hydraulic and diesel experience.
7. Apply strong electrical aptitude.
8. AC electrical drive experience is a plus.
9. Prior experience with large mobile equipment is preferred.
10. Pass pre-employment drug test, physical exam, and background check.
